Аббатство Сен-Реми (Abbaye Notre-Dame de Saint-Rémy), расположенное в южной части Бельгии, было основано в 1230 году. Монахи начали варить пиво здесь примерно в 1595 году. Небольшая пивоварня в аббатстве, Rochefort Trappistes, является одной из полутора десятка траппистских пивоварен в мире и делает насыщенный и ароматный тёмный эль.
